Notification Inbox

Learn how to track and act on Torq events using the Notification Inbox.

Overview

The Notification Inbox gives you a persistent, centralized view of critical Torq events directly in the product. It covers events across workflow execution, AI activity, and platform usage, so you can stay on top of what matters without relying on external channels. A badge on the Inbox icon shows your unread count.

Notification types

The inbox includes the following event types:

  • Workflow approval requests: Alerts when a workflow is submitted for review and requires approval.

  • AI credit alerts: Notifications based on credit usage, covering three conditions: approaching the purchased balance limit, exceeding the purchased balance, and approaching the monthly allowance limit.

  • User mentions: Alerts when someone mentions you in a case comment.

  • Workspace invites: Notifications when you are invited to join another workspace.

  • Socrates conversation shared: Notifications when a Socrates conversation is shared with you.

  • Workflow failures: Alerts when a workflow run fails, with a direct link to the failed execution.

Notification badges

Badges are visual indicators that appear on a notification to signal its type at a glance.

How to use

  1. Access the inbox: Click Inbox in the left navigation. A panel opens as an overlay over the main content.

  2. Filter notifications: Use the All and Unread tabs to switch between all notifications and those you have not yet read. The Unread tab shows a count of pending notifications.

  3. Mark notifications as read: Hover over any notification to mark it read individually. To clear all at once, open the three-dot menu at the top of the panel and select Mark all as read.

  4. Notification states: Notifications are grouped by time period: Today, Yesterday, This week, and Older. Unread notifications are marked with a blue dot. Hovering over a notification marks it as read. A new arrivals pill appears at the top when new notifications arrive while you are scrolled down, click it to jump to the latest.

  5. Grouped notifications: Repeated notifications of the same type triggered by the same resource within a one-hour window are combined into a single entry, with a badge showing how many occurred.

  6. Act on a notification: Click a notification to open the relevant resource in a new tab: for example, a failed workflow run, an assigned case, or an approval request. Notifications from other workspaces show a workspace name tag on the row so you can tell at a glance which workspace the event belongs to. To close the panel, click outside it or press Escape.

The Notification Inbox keeps critical events visible and actionable in one place. As new notification types are added across workflows, cases, and AI activity, the inbox remains the central place to track and respond to what matters most.
