Track Workflow Changes: Version History in Torq

Learn how to view and restore previous workflow versions, compare changes, and manage iterations efficiently.

Updated over a week ago

Use the workflow version history to view and restore previous workflow versions or to compare two sequential versions. The history entry is created for published workflows or current drafts.

Accessing Version History

  1. Go to the Workflows page.

  2. Open the workflow you want to view the version history of.

  3. Open the menu and select Version History.

  4. Click on a version to view it. Changed steps are highlighted in blue for modifications or green for additions. Deleted steps will be listed at the top of the page in a red dropdown.

  5. The information included for each version is as follows:

    1. Version creation date.

    2. The user who published the workflow or created the draft (if there is a current draft).

    3. The version description that was provided at publishing.

Actions for Managing Versions

Upon hovering over the version in the sidebar, access each version's menu, where you can:

  • Rename version: Give the version a meaningful name to easily locate it in the version history list.

  • Save as workflow: Save an old version as a new workflow to continue working on it separately. This option does not change the current workflow draft.

  • Restore version: Restoring an old version overwrites the current draft, and any unpublished changes will be lost.
