Veeam Backup and Replication

Integrate Veeam with Torq to run Veeam actions as part of a Torq workflow.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Veeam is a backup, disaster recovery and data protection software.

Torq enables quick and easy integration with Veeam, so you can automate anything and everything within moments. Torq's public Veeam steps include:

  • Create Veeam Quick Backup

  • List Malware Events

  • List Installed License

  • Create Configuration Backup

  • +8 more...

If you don't see a step you need, you can create your own in various ways, such as using the Send an HTTP Request step or Torq’s Step Builder, and share it across your organization.

To use Veeam steps in Torq workflows, look here.

Use Veeam Steps in Torq

Step One: Create a Dedicated Veeam User

It is best practice to add a new user to your Veeam account to create a dedicated user for the integration.

  1. Manage Users: In Veeam, navigate to Main Menu > Users and Roles > Security.

  2. Add New User: Click Add.

  3. Define New User:

    1. In the User or group field, enter the name of a user or user group in the DOMAIN\USERNAME format.

    2. From the Role list, select the necessary role to be assigned.

  4. Finalize: Click OK.

Step Two: Create a Veeam Backup and Replication Steps Integration in Torq

  1. Navigate to Integration: Go to Build > Integrations > Steps > Veeam Backup and Replication and click Add.

  2. Fill in the Details:

    1. Give the integration a unique and meaningful name.

    2. Fill in your product IP address and port number. The default port number is 9419.

    3. Fill in the dedicated Username and Password that you created in Step One.

    4. Enter the API version.

  3. Finalize: Click Save.

Step Three: Use Veeam Backup and Replication Steps in a Workflow

  1. Add Access Token Step: Veeam requires an access token.

  2. Add Step: Before using Veeam steps in a workflow, you must add the Veeam Generate access token step to your canvas.

  3. Automate Token Creation: This generates an access token, which will then be used as an input parameter for subsequent Veeam steps within that workflow.

    1. A new access token is created per workflow execution.
