Overview
The Insights dashboard tracks time saved across all published workflows and provides key execution metrics. Time savings are calculated using TimeBack benchmarks, which you set per workflow to reflect how long the equivalent manual process takes. The dashboard aggregates these benchmarks across all successful workflow executions, including nested workflows, to show total time saved over time.
Dashboard metrics
The dashboard compiles data based on your TimeBack benchmarks, workflow executions, and published workflows. The following panels are available:
Time saved: Total time saved across all published workflows for the selected period, displayed as work days and hours with a trend line. Click See Breakdown to view the top workflows contributing to time saved.
Workflow Runs: Number of executions per day shown as a bar chart. Toggle between run count (#) and average run time (hourglass icon), or select Show time saved to overlay time savings on the chart.
Most Run Workflows: The most frequently executed workflows in the selected period, ranked by total runs.
Total Published: Total number of published workflows, including the count published within the selected period.
Total Runs: Total workflow executions in the selected period, with a percentage change compared to the previous period.
How to use
Set a TimeBack benchmark
Set or update a TimeBack benchmark using any of the following methods.
Dashboard review
Open the dashboard: Go to Monitor > Insights.
Open review: Click Review. Workflows that require a benchmark are listed for easy access.
Set the benchmark: Drag the slider to reflect the time the use case takes to complete manually. Use Torq's default or calculate based on your experience, including time spent switching between applications, systems, and any human-in-the-loop steps.
When publishing
Publish the workflow: When publishing, update the default TimeBack benchmark or keep it as is.
Workflow manager
Adjust the TimeBack benchmark from the workflow list without opening each workflow individually.
If a benchmark is not set before publishing, the default value is used. To exclude a workflow from dashboard calculations, select This workflow doesn't save any time at the bottom of the TimeBack menu.
Open the workflow list: Go to Build > Workflows.
Adjust the benchmark: Click the three-dot (...) menu in the workflow row, select Settings, and update the benchmark.
Dashboard adjustments are not retroactive.
Filter metrics
Use time and tag filters to focus the dashboard on specific workflows or periods. Tag filtering lets you compare workflow groups, for example, Phishing Prevention workflows, or Scheduled versus Triggered workflows by run frequency.
Open the dashboard: Go to Monitor > Insights.
Set the time range: Click the Time dropdown to select the period to display. The default is Last 7 days.
Filter by tag: Click the Tags dropdown and select up to five tags. Each tag is assigned a distinct color in the graphs, which can be toggled or hovered over to isolate or combine statistics.
(Optional) Share the filtered view: Copy the URL after applying filters. The URL reflects the current time range and tag selection.
TimeBack, tags, and other statistics are reflected in the dashboard 24 hours after changes.
