Notes in Torq Cases: Efficiently Store Information

Learn how to store information within Torq cases efficiently with notes.

Updated today

The Notes tab within a case provides a centralized and versatile space to store and organize critical case-related information. From documenting scan results to storing detailed reports, it ensures key updates are accessible and well-structured.

  1. Save Key Information: Keep essential details in one easily accessible location for clarity and continuity in case investigations.

  2. Store Comprehensive Case Data: Include scan results, reports, etc, to ensure convenient access and efficient consumption of detailed information.

The note body supports up to 65,000 characters. You can use the editor formatting options or HTML.

How to Use

  • Track Note Actions: Every note-related action—creation, update, or deletion—is automatically updated in the case timeline.

    • Manual Actions: Display the user’s name for transparency.

    • Automated Actions: Include links to workflow executions for easy tracking.

  • Mark Notes as Public: Marking a note as public adds a “Public” tag to its metadata. Workflows in Torq can use this tag, and third-party apps can access it through the API—for example, to display notes in a customer portal or share them with people who don’t have Torq access.

  • Highlight Key Notes: Mark critical notes as Key Notes to display them in the case’s Overview tab, ensuring quick access for anyone reviewing the case.

  • Manage Note Changes: View details such as the creator, creation time, last updater, and update time for each note.

    • When a note is actively being edited, the editor's user icon appears as an indicator, and the note is locked to prevent simultaneous edits and potential data loss.
