Two-Factor Authentication: Secure Your Workspaces

Enhance workspace security by enabling two-factor authentication for users logging in with email and password.

Updated over 3 months ago

Two-factor authentication (2FA) enhances account protection by addressing security threats such as credential theft, brute force, and more.

Torq's 2FA only applies to users logging in with an email and password. Users logging in via SSO or Google sign-on will not be asked to authenticate their login.

How It Works

  • When a user first logs in to their account using an email and password, they will be informed that 2FA is necessary to continue.

  • The user must scan the presented bar code or enter the activation code into a recognized authenticator application on their cellular device.

  • The user will be asked to insert the code available on the authenticator application's screen.

  • Upon authentication, the user will be logged in and can proceed as before.

Resetting 2FA

A workspace Owner can reset the 2FA authentication on a workspace member's account by going to Settings > Users and clicking the Reset two-factor authentication option under the user menu. This will require the user to re-scan the barcode into their authenticator application.
