Use Jira to Trigger Workflows in Torq
Step One: Create a Jira Cloud Trigger Integration in Torq
Add the Integration: Navigate to Build > Integrations > Triggers > Jira Cloud and click Add Instance.
Name the Integration: Give the integration a unique and meaningful name.
(Optional) Add an Authentication Header: Click Add.
Enter a name.
Click Generate Random Secret or enter your own.
Click Copy Secret to save it for later.
Finalize: Click Add and Copy the generated endpoint. You will need the URL for the webhook.
Step Two: Create a Webhook in Jira
You must be an Atlassian admin to create a webhook in Jira.
Open the Jira Administration Console: Navigate to Settings > System > WebHooks.
Configure the Webhook: Click Create a WebHook.
Name: Enter a unique and meaningful name.
URL: Paste the Torq endpoint you generated earlier.
Events: Register relevant events for the webhook.
Finalize: Click Create.
Now that you've successfully created a Jira Cloud trigger, you can build your first Jira Cloud–initiated workflow!
In Torq, go to Build > Workflows > Create a Workflow > New Blank Workflow, and select the trigger type: Integrations > Jira Cloud. Find your new trigger, and automate away!
Use Jira Cloud Steps in Torq
Create a Jira Steps Integration in Torq
Navigate to the Integration: Go to Build > Integrations > Steps > Jira and click Add Instance.
Name the Integration: Give the integration a unique and meaningful name.
Finalize: Click Add and then Accept to allow Torq access to your Atlassian account and perform actions on behalf of your user.
Use Jira Cloud Administration Steps in Torq
Step One: Generate a Jira API Key
Open Jira: Navigate to Settings > Atlassian account settings > Security and click Create and manage API tokens.
Create an API Token: Click Create API token.
Name: Enter a meaningful name.
Expires on: Select an expiration date that is less than a year away.
Finalize: Click Create, Copy the token to save it for later, and click Done.
Step Two: Create a Jira Cloud Administration Steps Integration in Torq
Navigate to the Integration: Go to Build > Integrations > Steps > Jira Cloud Administration and click Add Instance.
Configure the Integration:
Give the integration a unique and meaningful name.
Enter the email address that is associated with your Jira account.
Paste the Jira API key that you copied earlier.
Finalize: Click Add and then Accept to allow Torq access to your Atlassian account.
