AI Pricing Model: Monitor and Track AI Credit Consumption

Understand how Torq’s unified AI Credit system powers Socrates, AI Agents, and AI Tasks.

Updated yesterday

Torq’s AI pricing model is based on a usage-driven metric called AI Credits, designed to align costs with the scale and complexity of your AI operations.

AI Credits serve as a unified currency across Socrates, AI Agents, and AI Tasks, providing flexible, usage-based coverage for all three.

Organizations not using the Extend pricing model follow a different structure, where AI Tasks consume credits, and Socrates usage is based on the number of Cases. For guidance on that model, see Organization Management: Manage Workspaces in Torq, Track AI Task Operator Usage, and Track Socrates Usage.

Benefits

With the unified AI Credits model, customers unlock multiple advanced capabilities through a single entitlement, creating a smoother, more efficient experience that eliminates isolated feature quotas and delivers consistent value across the platform.

  • Unified tracking: AI usage (AI Tasks, AI Agents, Socrates) is tracked through a single, easy-to-monitor credit system.

  • Full transparency: Customers can view real-time credit usage and breakdowns by feature directly in the Torq platform.

  • Scalable flexibility: Add-on credit packages and BYOS model support let you scale or optimize costs as needed.

  • Safe guardrails: Built-in thresholds and notifications prevent misuse or runaway consumption.

Availability

Every Torq tier includes AI Task and AI Agents, ensuring all customers can leverage core AI automation features. Socrates is included for all tiers that have Cases/HyperSOC enabled.

Monthly credit allocation

Each workspace receives a pre-allocated monthly AI Credit allotment based on its purchased tier. Credits are allocated per calendar month and reset at month end without rolling over. AI Credits are shared across all AI features in the workspace, including Socrates, AI Agents, and AI Tasks.

Usage model

AI Tasks, AI Agents, and Socrates all use the same AI Credits pool, which is consumed as they run actions. If you need more capacity, you can purchase credit add-on packages at any time.

Consumption

Each run consumes a fixed credit amount, independent of the token count, tool calls, or model duration. That makes cost estimation straightforward: one execution = one known credit cost. This transparent structure helps you estimate credit usage more effectively. Torq may amend the information in the table below from time to time, as reasonably required.

AI activities that don’t consume credits

Not every AI feature in Torq draws from your AI Credits pool. The capabilities below are AI-assisted experiences that help you build, configure, and summarize workflows and cases, but do not consume AI Credits.

Usage thresholds

Torq applies usage thresholds to keep AI credit consumption predictable and reliable while preventing misuse. As usage increases, notifications are triggered at progressively higher usage levels, starting around 80% and continuing through 200% of your monthly allocation.

Credit usage notification

The AI Credit Usage notification email provides a monthly summary of AI credit consumption within a Torq workspace. This helps administrators and workflow owners monitor credit usage, understand consumption trends, and take action if usage approaches or exceeds allocation:

  • The current month’s AI credit consumption.

  • A breakdown by feature type.

  • The workspace that triggered the activity.

  • A link to access the AI Credit Usage overview.

AI Credit usage overview

The credit usage overview provides full visibility into how your organization’s AI credits are consumed across different features. It helps teams track usage, monitor trends, and plan top-ups effectively.

Only users with the Organization Manager role can see the Organization Management option in their workspaces list.

Per-execution tracking

Each AI Task or AI Agent execution generates a detailed usage record indicating:

  • How many credits were consumed.

  • How many credits remain after execution.

This transparency allows teams to manage AI consumption proactively and plan credit top-ups before limits are reached.

How to use

  1. Access the Organization Management page: Click on Organization Management at the bottom of the workspaces list.

  2. Display the AI Credit Usage overview: Locate your workspace, expand its row and click the Monthly AI Credits Usage tile. This tile shows the credits used versus allocated for the selected month, and opens the detailed usage view.

  3. Use these graphs to understand your credit usage at a glance:

    • Credits used this month: A horizontal stacked progress bar (e.g., 555 / 1000) visualizing how much of your monthly allocation has been used, with a breakdown by features:

      • Socrates Actionplan

      • Socrates Conversation

      • AI Agents

      • AI Tasks

Hover over a segment to display a tooltip naming that specific category and the amount it consumed.

    • Cumulative daily usage: A visual chart displaying day-by-day AI activity, helping identify peak usage periods and credit-intensive features.

Hover over any day to see a tooltip with cumulative usage: the total credits consumed from the start of the month up to that day.

Best practices

  • To maintain uninterrupted operations, customers should monitor credit usage regularly through the in-app usage overview.

  • Consider purchasing add-on credits once 80% of the monthly allocation is reached to prevent unexpected interruptions.

  • If multiple AI Agents are in use, review their count periodically to stay within the soft cap and avoid unnecessary credit drain.
